David & Stacie McDavid - 2014

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

Cutting Horse Competitors, Ranchers & Philanthropists

Businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist David McDavid began his first auto dealership at age 19. This grew until it included dealerships in Irving, Frisco, Plano and Houston. David’s interests and investments were very diverse and included being co-owner of the Dallas Mavericks from 1996-2000.

Along with his wife Stacie, David’s love for horses motivated their passion to invest in and train cutting horses. From their ranch near Weatherford, Texas, Denton native Stacie McDavid is more comfortable in boots, riding her horse than in any other setting. Growing up in an athletically and academically gifted family, her father, a coach and educator, had a great influence on her. Stacie attended Texas Woman’s University on a track and field scholarship. At the age of 22, she opened and operated a franchise of 32 National Health Studios across Texas and Florida.

With many great horses and awards to their credit, the McDavids are active, life-long members of the National Cutting Horse Association. They were both inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2014.
