Champion horse trainers - Cutting & Barrel Racing with over 32 World Championships.
Both Stanley and Wanda possessed outstanding horsemanship skills and were fierce competitors. Growing up on a ranch in Mason County, Texas, Wanda was horse-back much of her childhood. Once she began barrel racing, she pursued it with a passion. That passion spread to training and teaching others how to be successful in her sport. With many world titles to her credit, she served on boards and committees to help further barrel racing skills and techniques.
Stanley was an accomplished cutting horse rider and trainer. He joined the National Cutting Horse Association in 1950 and finished in the Top 10 standings more than a dozen times. He credits his brother-in-law, Matlock Rose, with putting him on his first cutting horse. Bush also rode blue-blooded Thoroughbreds from Hot Springs to New Orleans.
1969 - Wanda Harper Bush (card No. 14) adds three world titles (All-Around, Cutting and Flag Race) to her illustrious resume, bringing her total world titles to 32.
To date, she is the most decorated cowgirl in the history of the GRA/WPRA.
Her 32 World Titles include:
9 All-Around (1952, 1957-58, 1962-65, 1968 and 1969)
2 Barrel Racing titles (1952-53)
2 Cutting world titles (1966, 1969)
One Flag Race world title (1969)
11 Tie-Down Roping titles (1951-56, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1966-67)
7 Ribbon Roping titles (1951, 1953-54, 1956-59).
She also finished as Reserve World Champion in Barrel Racing three different times.
